Children’s Room

Project Overview:

Not to be outdone by her older sister, this girl also wanted her room to be painted pink. And what a pink she chose… Originally a bedroom shared by the two sisters, now this room is the personal space of the younger one. Her love of animals comes through in playful images of turtles, where pink pops up again surrounded by other cheerful colors; the art pieces acting as “windows” into nature. The striped and checkered pattern of the headboard is repeated on the bedspread and rug. The gray tone of the furniture is taken up by surrounding surfaces, which, together with complementary greens, calm down the brilliant brightness of the walls. Two upholstered storage ottomans keep the space for a trundle bed to open on the side of the twin bed.
